Caring With Awareness Course

Here’s something you probably don’t ask yourself on a daily basis, but one Harvard researcher, suggests we try: “What am I going to do with my mind today?” (Killingsworth, Science, 2010).
You probably ask other questions to plan for your day, such as-
“Who is picking the kids up today?”
“What is for dinner tonight?”
“What meetings do I have on the schedule?”
“Did anyone let the dogs out?!” (this one is a frequent in our house in the morning…and afternoon….and evening)
The authors of this study concluded that a wandering mind is much less happy than a focused mind, but how to we accomplish that?
In an age of distraction, Mindfulness is a way to strengthen that mental “muscle” of being able to pay attention, without judgments and with purpose. Research has shown mindfulness based stress reduction (MBSR) promotes neuroplasticity in the brain, reduces stress, and improves ability to handle tough emotions.
But don’t believe them (or me!), come see for yourself!
Our new group course is small (not too small), and local, and based on MBSR! Email us to find out 🙂
